From age 4 I was on Peregian Beach on the Sunshine Coast chasing my sister around in her green caps age group and I have been involved in surf sports ever since. Nowadays I train under Jack Hansen at Alexandra Headland SLSC, whilst also working part time as an Exercise Scientist coaching young and upcoming athletes at the Sunshine Coast Sports Institute. I also work part time as a Lifeguard, and I am studying to further my career as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist at the University of the Sunshine Coast. I’m excited to begin a career working in this space, using exercise to improve the lives of people of all abilities and backgrounds.
Working two jobs, full time study and training at least twice daily is a big workload, but I enjoy each day presenting different challenges, helping others, and always working towards new goals. After two years practically out of the sport with long-covid heart issues and injuries I am just enjoying being able to be back every day doing what I love, and I look forward to returning to competition proper this season - beginning with another trip across the Channel of Bones in July.
